On Wednesday, February 10 at 12:00 PICS will host an alumni spotlight with Peter Huwe, Assistant Professor of Biochemistry, Department of Biomedical Sciences, Mercer University School of Medicine. Peter will discuss his research, the career steps he took to get to his current position and will answer questions from students.

Postdoctoral Study: Structural Bioinformatics, Fox Chase Cancer Center
Research Interests: Dr. Huwe’s research interests are focused on using computational modeling and simulations to elucidate the functional effects of novel mutations in proteins.
Bio: Dr. Peter Huwe is a Medical Educator track Assistant Professor of Biochemistry in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Mercer University School of Medicine (MUSM). Dr. Huwe received his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics from the Radhakrishnan Lab at University of Pennsylvania. After his postdoctoral studies in the Dunbrack Lab at the Fox Chase Cancer Center, Huwe became a non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Biology Department at Temple University. Now at MUSM, Dr. Huwe’s career is primarily focused on his passion of teaching basic science to medical students.
