I really want to take a course, but I’m on the waitlist, is there any way to improve my chances of getting in?

You should go to meetings for the class during add/drop (even if you are not enrolled) and talk to the professor after class to ask about being allowed in. You can also email the professor or the department that the course is in. Often faculty can give you a permit although it is not guaranteed.
