On Wednesday, November 4 at 12:00 PICS will host an Alumni Spotlight featuring an Alumni of the Radhakrishnan Lab, Dr. Zahera Jabeen.
Zahera earned her Ph.D. in Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras, India, where her dissertation was in the field of dynamical systems and statistical physics. Following her Ph.D, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences in India, Brandeis University, University of Michigan, and at University of Pennsylvania. In this period, her research areas were in the fields of granular physics, soft matter physics and multiphase flows. During her time at UPenn, she worked with Prof. Ravi Radhakrishnan (BE Chair), Prof. P. S. Ayyaswamy (formerly at MEAM) and Prof. David Eckmann (formerly at BE, PSOM) and applied multiscale modeling methods to design optimized drug-carriers for targeted drug delivery. She now works as an Engineering Physicist at ExxonMobil Research and Engineering, where she applies research in fundamental science to
find energy solutions.
