PICS Alumni Spotlight – Amit Shavit

On Wednesday, August 26, PICS will be hosting an alumni spotlight featuring an alumni of the Riggleman lab, Amit Shavit. Amit will talk about his education and career. After his talk Amit will be available for questions.

Amit Shavit is a Principal Data Scientist at Fidelity Investments, where he focuses on time series forecasting methods using machine learning techniques.  Previously, Amit was a Senior Data Scientist at Thomson Reuters, where he developed skills in natural language processing methods.  Amit graduated with a PhD from Penn’s Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering department in 2015, and currently lives in Philadelphia with his wife and newborn daughter.
