PICS Professors Celia Reina and David Srolovitz, along with Vasily Bulatov of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Long-Qing Chen of Pennsylvania State University in conjunction with USACM hosted the “Recent Advances in the Modeling and Simulation of the Mechanics of Nanoscale Materials” at the Singh Center for Nanotechnology on Penn’s campus.
The conference, which brought together scholars from all over the globe, covered topics such as first principle calculations and quantum properties, plasticity, grain boundaries and interfaces, mechanics of materials, phase field models, and scale bridging.
There was also a poster session where several PICS students were able to present their research.
