George Mason University, Korea, invites applications for a full-time position in Computational and Data Sciences at the assistant rank, starting in February 2023. The individual serving in this position will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in computational and data sciences, including courses in our newly developed Master of Science program in Computational Sciences that will launch in Spring 2023. Service activities will include coordinating with course developers in the CDS department in the U.S. as well as supporting Mason Korea as an academic unit. About the Position

This is a full-time, non-tenure track position. The compensation package is competitive, and all international hires include support for relocation expenses, furnished housing, home leave allowance, health insurance in Korea’s excellent health care system, and dependent tuition benefit. The initial term is one year, with further opportunity for renewal and multi-year contracts. Mason Korea’s courses are all taught in English.


Minimum qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a field related to computational science and data science
  • Experience in teaching courses in scientific databases and scientific and statistical visualization
  • Evidence or strong promise of teaching excellence at the college level
  • Experience in teaching with and/or using R, Python, Python Pandas, Matlab, Fortran, and MySQL

 Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in developing course materials.
