The Penn Institute for Computational Science (PICS) is a cross-disciplinary institute for the advancement, integration, and support of Penn research via the tools and techniques of high-performance computing. PICS brings together faculty members from a wide range of disciplines including mechanical engineering, physics, biomolecular engineering, medicine, linguistics and computational science. We host a series of colloquium throughout the fall and spring semesters bringing in speakers from outside of Penn to discuss research interests from fluid dynamics to nuclear engineering. We also hosts a yearly symposium with both internal and external speakers who all share an interest in high-performance computing.
